Item Description
An unusual, straight sided, French copper measure. This is well made, from a heavy gauge of copper, and it has castellated seams. It has a flat, strap handle, with nicely shaped terminals, and there is a band around the top for reinforcement. To the base is an assay mark which is impressed with the measure size but this has been over stamped and is no longer legible. The piece is in very good condition but the tinning, to the interior is worn. As the interior was tinned the measure must have been for some type of foodstuff.
